**COVID-19 VACCINATION**

Please do not contact the surgery regarding your COVID-19 vaccine, you will be contacted as soon as possible via telephone.

Leyland Primary Care Network - Central Park Surgery, The Village Surgeries Croston & Eccleston, Worden Medical Centre, Moss Side Medical Centre and Sandy Lane Surgery will be joining together to ensure this vaccine is rolled out.  Patient’s notes have already been tagged as to which of the priority groups they are in and will be receiving their invites in order of priority.

Other areas in Chorley and South Ribble covered by different Primary Care Networks have similar arrangements with community vaccine centres in Leyland and Chorley.

The current vaccine is difficult to store and transport and so will mostly be given via our community vaccine centre based in Leyland at Jubilee House.

At present the Leyland PCN community vaccine centre is projected to receive the first delivery of the vaccine around the 4th January.

Invites for vaccination will be handled centrally, there is no need to contact the surgery.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE**

The current pandemic situation is challenging for everyone in different ways and we appreciate that the situation we all find ourselves in can be frustrating sometimes. Unfortunately a number of our staff have recently experienced foul and abusive language or behaviour from a minority of patients. This is not acceptable and we will not tolerate this sort of behaviour towards our staff – all of whom continue to work tirelessly during this pandemic. In line with our zero tolerance policy, if you are found to be abusive towards members of staff then appropriate action will be taken.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION - CORONAVIRUS COVID-19**

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.

Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.

Read the NHS advice about staying at home, including how long to isolate for.

Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:

  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • your condition gets worse
  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Use the 111 coronavirus service

Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

Information is available at the NHS.uk coronavirus (COVID-19) information page.

PARKING & ACCESS:
There are good parking facilities for patients. The practice has had to introduce clamping for non patient parking at a cost to the practice, due to non patient abuse of the facilities.

Disabled patients can access the practice via the wheel chair ramp at the main door of the surgery. There are toilets off the entrance hall with facilities for the disabled. The practice is currently reviewing the facilities to ensure we conform with the Disability Act which recently came into force.

THE LEYLAND COLLABORATIVE

We have been working hard to increase the numbers of appointments available for you. This has involved developing a partnership with other local practices, which we are pleased to tell you has now resulted in the formulation of the group named above. The Leyland Collaborative consists of the following practices Worden Medical Centre, Central Park Surgery, Sandy Lane Surgery, and The Village Surgeries -  Croston & Eccleston. The new service will provide access to GP and Nurse appointments at weekends and Bank Holidays (except Christmas Day) GP appointments weekday evenings. The service is available to all patients within this group on a proportionate basis however it is important to be aware that the appointment may not necessarily be at this practice. These are all additional appointments so it is not the case that patients of other practices will now utilise all our appointments.

Available appointments will be offered as normal through this surgery and you will be informed if the appointment is at another site.
